TOURNAMENT RULES

Entry fee per Participant is a donation of $100 to the SC Troopers Association Foundation Fund. Payment of the entry constitutes representation by each Participant that he/she has read and understands the Rules and the Participant will abide by such Rules and the decisions of the Event Director and/or Event Staff.

Anglers may bring a Young Angler along with no additional fee. Young Anglers will compete for 3 places in each of the four periods. A caught fish for a Young Angler is one that he or she reels in. They may only weigh in one fish per period (14” minimum length) just like the regular anglers. Simply give us the name and age of your Young Angler when you call in your entry. (A Young Angler is a youth who has not reached their 15th birthday.)

There are 4 weigh-in periods. Periods end at 9am, 11am, 1pm and 3pm. No Participant may weigh more than 1 bass per period. (Participants may weigh their fish for an ending period if they are in line at the tanks at the end of that period.) Weigh-In scales open at 8:00 am.

Seven places paid in each period. Each Period Payout is $600, $400, $300, $250, $200, $150 and $100. Additional prizes for the Event Big Bass Winner. Young Anglers – 3 paid places each weigh-in-period ($125/ $75 / $50).

Weigh-ins will be held at Dreher Island State Park at the parking lot past the Park Store. Participants may launch from anywhere on the Official Event Waters (Lake Murray) and may begin fishing at 7:00 am.

Participants may bring their fish to weigh-in by water or by trailering. Trailering a bass to the weigh-in site is permissible. Any Participant whether trailering or not, shall be required to bring their boat and respective partner or partners, if any, with them to the official weigh-in site for a boat inspection when weighing bass in any respective period.

The Official Event Waters are restricted to Lake Murray and the rivers and creeks accessible by water from Lake Murray. All fish must be caught on and within the official designated Event Waters during the official Event hours. The Event Waters are off limits beginning at 6:00 p.m. on the day prior to the Event day. Other off limits during the Event include areas marked by SC DNR, 50 yards from any working gas pump and the area of 100 yards around the tournament/weigh-in ramp at Dreher Island State Park.

No fishing allowed within 50 yards of an anchored boat without that anchored boat’s permission. No one may leave their boat to fish or land a fish.

Largemouth and spotted bass will be weighed in. There is a 14-inch minimum length to weigh-in. Any alteration of length or weight of a bass is prohibited, and the Participant will be disqualified and banned from any future Event and may be subject to prosecution.

Artificial bait only (no live bait, trolling or snagging). All ties will be broken by the first to weigh-in during the respective period which includes the Event Big Bass.

Dead fish will not be weighed. Participant must be in line at the bump tanks and declared before the end of weigh-in time each period for their fish weight to be tallied and counted in the results for each weigh-in period.

Participants may only have a limit of 3 bass (per Participant) in their possession at any time during the Event day. Participants may only weigh-in the fish that he/she catches on the Event Waters during the hours of the Event on the day of the Event.

Participants must fish from a boat with all safety equipment required by SC DNR. Boats must have adequate live wells to support their catch. Each person in boat must be a paid contestant with no more than 3 Participants per boat. Boats used in this Event must be covered by liability insurance. No canoes, kayaks, rafts, or floating apparatuses.

Life jackets must be worn buckled, snapped, or zipped and the stop switch cord attached to the driver when the combustion engine is running and in gear.

All local, State & Federal Laws shall always apply. Participants under 18 years of age may fish with a parent or adult (with written permission from a parent or guardian).

By their entry, Participants agree to submit to a third party administered polygraph examination and agrees to provide truthful and honest responses as to be determined by the third-party polygraph examiner. Polygraph tests will be administered at the conclusion of the final weigh-in. Anglers who refuse to take, do not make themselves available for or fail the polygraph test will be disqualified.

No alcoholic beverages or drugs (other than those purchased over-the-counter or prescribed by a licensed physician) are to be consumed by Participants or allowed in Participant’s boat until the final weigh-in is complete and/or polygraph examinations are complete.

Cell phones and other communication devises may not be used for purposes of locating or finding fish and/or communicating with other Participants regarding such.

All protest or disputes relating to any matter involving the Rules and/or the Event must be registering in writing with the Event Director within fifteen (15) minutes of the designated weigh-in and prior to the delivery of any prizes or winnings. Failed polygraph examinations are non-disputable, and the results are final. The interpretation and enforcement of the Rules will be sole responsibility of the Event Director and the Event Staff.
